Movements in Bolivia and Chile

Chile had a 6.7 earthquake this morning near Antofagasta in the North.  There are no reported injuries.  It was an aftershock of the 7.7 quake that hit last month.   I was flying over Antofagasta on the 14th during the earthquake. Wouldn’t that have been something if I could see an earthquake from the air?  There was a 5.8 near Santiago yesterday, without damage.  The Chilean kids are blasé about earthquakes, but are terrified a tornado may harm them while they’re here in the states.  It’s just what you grew up with, I guess.  The strongest earthquake I’ve experienced is a 4-something in Chile, and a 2-something here in Appalachia.

Yesterday in Bolivia, Santa Cruz celebrated their declaration of autonomy with a peaceful rally-over 100,000 people.  Santa Cruz is the center of money, education, and the energy industry.  I don’t see how Evo is helping his indigenous followers by hurting the people who are keeping the country running.  This fight is definately poor/indian vs rich/white.  The white people mostly look mestizo to me.  They are called the ‘European elite’, but they’re just people working or studying, living their lives.
