~Sigh~  It’s that time of year again.  FES’s coming home, and new ones preparing for their year abroad.  The time flies by.
Please welcome Sarah Nguyen to my blogroll.   Sarah’s blog is a ‘Vietnamese-German-American Fusion blog.’  I’m looking forward to following Sarah’s year.   Sarah will be going to Germany as a Congress-Bundestag student.  I enjoy reading her blog, and I’m sure you will, too.
Our first FES was Congress-Bundestag.  It’s a very prestigious scholarship program.   The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange website has a wealth of information.   The program is jointly funded by the US Congress and Germany’s Bundestag, and started in 1983.  Between 250-280 US students go out on exchange with Congress-Bundestag scholarships annually.  The exchanges work through the following exchange organizations in the US-AFS, AIFS, ASSE, AYUSA and CIEE, depending on where the potential FES lives.  If you want to go to Germany as an exchange student, look into applying for the scholarship.   The coolest part of this exchange is at the end of the year, all of the Congress-Bundestag students meet in Washington, DC for a weekend conference to discuss their year.
